Comparison Degen DE1128 To Tecsun PL398
I was going to buy the tecsun pl505, but i changed my mind occasionally. I have got degen de1128 for several days, it is just my personal experience below:
design:
de1128
pros: I personally like de1128: smooth to the touch, the two horn just like 2 big eyes, looks modern.
cons: it is too thin to stand on a desktop but just lay down
pl398
pros: it is stable, can be put upright
cons: too sharp and it may scrape you hand
comparasion of operability:
i like tecsun pl398 better on this basis
cros of degen de1128:
A. direct input frequencies even after pressing “enter” to play, enter the storage addresses also need to press the “SET” key to play;
B. and the shuttle cannot call up stored frequency, very inconvenient;
C. not press the backlight.
D. after the shutdown screen does not show time, time also need to light up the screen you want to view.
E. volume adjustment keys “V-” & “V+”, is not very convenient.
pros of tecsun pl398

sound quality
DE1128>PL398
Every one thinks in his way, you can’t even feel the bass of DE1128, But you can easily feel the stereo(better than pl398) when you use its loud speaker.
MP3 Part:
de118 won, pl398 sucks at mp3, de1128 making you picking song easier and its sound rasing gradually instead of strike your ear by accident.
